Abstract: The present invention relates to a system for the evaluation and detection of adulteration of natural milk with synthetic milk, which is an excellent imitation of the properties of the natural milk. Milk fat is mimicked by vegetable oil; the nitrogen component in milk is mimicked by urea; detergents are added to make it frothy. This mixture is so expertly prepared that the specific gravity of the concocted milk is the same as that of the natural milk. This mixture is then mixed with natural milk in varying proportions. Herein, a novel voltammetric system for detection of adulteration in genuine milk with synthetic milk is described in which the measurement of current response is performed on a single working electrode during the voltage sequence with the measurement procedure including the steps of applying the potential waveform of interest on the working electrode, the electrode is being immersed in the known buffer solution registering the currents flowing through the working electrode storing the registered current values in a data storage unit applying the same potential waveform sequence as given at (a) above on the working electrode, the electrode being immersed in the mixture of buffer solution and the milk sample under test. registering the currents flowing through the working electrode storing the registered current values in a data storage unit performing deconvolution on current signals corresponding to the mixture of milk & buffer solution with current signal corresponding to the buffer solution and further analyzing the current signals using different multivariate methods to produce qualitative or quantitative results.
Startup Options:
