| Abstract: | The present invention discloses the improved hot dip coating process for production of galvanized, galvannealed, galfan and Zn-AI-Mg coated steels with the application of prior sol-gel dip coating of iron oxide on the steel surfaces by dipping into sol-gel solution and subsequent optimized annealing process to reduce it into prior metallic iron layer to improve the wettability of molten metal zinc or zinc alloy preventing the surface selective oxidation of alloying elements content into steels. This leads to excellent surface quality of hot dip galvanized, galvannealed, galfan and Zn-AI-Mg coating without bare spots/uncoated spots. |
