| Abstract: | Tannery waste contains mainly sodium chloride and sodium sulphate. Unlike sea brine, subsoil brine of Rajasthan does not have much calcium and Magnesium impurities and contains high level of sulphate impurities in the brine as Sodium Sulphate. If salt is highly contaminated with, sodium sulfate is not suitable even for edible as well as industrial purpose. The present invention relates to a process for the recovery of high purity salt (NaCl) and sodium sulphate (Na2SO4.10H2O) from crudes such as solid waste such as tannery effluents and common salts produced from Rajasthan Lakes (India) containing sodium sulphate. More specifically the invention relates to a cost-effective process for recovery of high purity sodium chloride and sodium sulphate. |
