| Abstract: | Existing visibility measuring devices are complex in construction and they dont have simple electronic system. In these devices, the real time response of main system is dependent on various sub systems performance. Also performance of these devices depends on too many sub systems for a comprehensive accuracy. The present invention discloses a visibility measuring device having a acclimated light beam generator and an analyzer using onto-mechanical elements. The device is capable of full scale operation (10 to > 10000 meters) with minimum light intensity of 0.33 lumen and can be installed either parallel to runway in an airport or parallel to road. Device acquires continuous visibility data from field-site, which is transmitted in dual mode communication protocol viz., landline and Wi-Fi, throughout the year withstanding harsh environmental situations like fog, sandstorm, rain and extreme hot weather conditions. This cost effective device of present invention ensures uninterrupted, reliable visual guidance for the pilots at Airports and for safety of the travelers on the road. |
