| Abstract: | The present invention relates to microfluidic devices useful for diagnostic and bioanalytical techniques. Particularly, the present invention provides a biodegradable paper-based device and a process for preparation thereof. The biodegradable paper-based device comprising a patterned substrate (100) comprising a coating of a hydrophobic polymer component, wherein the coating of hydrophobic polymer is configured to define hydrophilic wells (102), and wherein the device comprises coating of hydrophobic polymer forming lateral hydrophobic barriers (101) and hydrophobic backing (103). | ||
