| Abstract: | The present invention relates to a composition of cardanol polyol-modified aqueous polyurethane dispersions (PUD) and films exhibiting fluorescent properties and a method for preparation thereof. The PUD composition contains modified cardanol polyols like glycard or card triol and an isocyanate-to-hydroxyl (NCO:OH) in the ratio of 1:1, with a minimum 5% of biobased content, which provides tensile strength to the present composition. The polyurethane prepolymer is obtained by reacting a polyol, a diol, an acid, deionized water, amine, solvent, and diisocyanate. The PUD contains at least one polyol with molecular weight in the range of 500 g/mol. The PUD composition contains a cardanol-based polyol (glycard, card triol) in the range of 5-20wt% with respect to the total weight of the composition. Further, the present invention enables the determination of fluorescent intensity ranging from 1.1 x106 to 2.39 x106 with glycard and 5.5x106 to 1.8x106 with card triol. | ||
