| Abstract: | The present invention discloses an electro-micro-flow induced method for cross-electrophile coupling of activated C(sp3)-O bonds with CO2, enabling the synthesis of aliphatic carboxylic acids. This method involves sequential reactions of sulfonium salts followed by replacement of CO2 with CS2, aldehydes, ketones, or electron- deficient olefins, resulting in the formation of corresponding dithiol acids, deoxygenated Barbier-type products, and 1,4-addition products. The process effectively addresses key challenges in the field of cross-electrophile coupling and organosulfur chemistry by eliminating the need for expensive catalysts, reductants, or oxidants. Additionally, it mitigates issues related to low surface-to-volume ratios in gas-liquid reactions. |
