Abstract: The present invention  relates to covalent organic polymers (COP) comprising the compound of Formula 1 for the removal of arsenic form water and the  method of preparation of the compound of Formula 1. Thedevelopedcovalent organic polymers serve as an adsorbent material and are  a porous poly-imine covalent organic polymeric material. The developed COPs are used for the removal of arsenic from water. The  invention also relates to a method for the treatment of water containing arsenic.
