| Abstract: | The present invention relates to design and fabrication of emission control systems attached to a high-temperature decentralized waste incinerator unit for the efficient disposal of incinerable waste, especially sanitary pads and face masks. This system can handle 5-10 L of waste and takes around 1 hr. for complete waste incineration. The proposed design consists of Primary Combustion Chamber (PCC), capable of reaching 800 ? 50 ?C, with an automated spring-loaded hopper feeding system. A forced-draft tunnel design provides uniform distribution of primary air in the PCC. Emissions are treated via multiple combinations of control systems: i) secondary combustion chamber, ii) catalyst coated honeycomb substrate, iii) wet venturi scrubbing system. Conductive ceramics in the PCC protect the heating elements, from direct contact with waste and toxic gases. An ash-funnel diverts the unburned material towards the ash tray post-combustion. A grate is provided at the bottom of the PCC to remove ash. Fig. 1 | ||
