| Abstract: | The present invention discloses a device containing metathesis electrodialysis stack for the production of various types of salts such as production of high value salt (KNO3 and K2SO4) from low value salts (KCl and Na2SO4/NaNO3). The metathesis electrodialysis stack comprises of anion exchange membrane at the end of the electrodes, and cation exchange & anion exchange membrane packed alternatively throughout the entire stack, wherein number of anion exchange membrane is n+1 and number of cation exchange membrane is n (where n is a positive whole number). This device gives better purity and yield of the value-added products via metathesis electrolysis (mED) when ~2 volt/cell pair electric potential is applied to the device. | ||
