Abstract:
A highly sensitive low-cost, small-sized device for measuring weak magnetic fields A microcontroller-based small-sized  device has been developed for measuring weak magnetic fields in the range of ?800 ?T with an accuracy of less than 1.5%. The  device mainly integrates an anisotropic magnetoresistive (AMR) sensor (101), which detects the magnetic field in terms of change in  resistance which is further translated into digital output with the help of suitable signal conditioning circuitry (102) and analog-to- digital converter (ADC) (103). A formulation algorithm written in the microcontroller unit (105) converts this digital information to  the corresponding value of the magnetic field displayed on the electronic screen (107).
Startup Options: The advantages of the device are
  • A device that enables the measurement of weak magnetic fields by employing an anisotropic magnetoresistive (AMR) sensing element and a microcontroller with the developed algorithm.
  • integrates an AMR sensor, which detects the magnetic field in terms of change in resistance which is further translated into digital output with the help of suitable signal conditioning circuitry and analog-to-digital converter (ADC).
