| Abstract: | A Light-sharing energy system based on functional optical design integrated planar waveguides, which comprises a Planar Waveguide (101) with Light Collection Side (LC) (1001) and adjacent Light Blocking Side (LB) (1002), skewed V-grooves at inner rear end of LC side and inner front end of LB side of planar waveguide, and dope the transparent matrix of light-sharing optical waveguide with luminescent spectral converters for inducing Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) concentration to increase crop productivity. The light-sharing system has high angular acceptance in one axis for the incident light, thereby avoiding the requirement for precise positioning and point-to-point solar tracking. The said planar light concentrator (PLC) optics can have photovoltaic or photothermal energy conversion systems at the opaque end and can have light diffusion beneath it. The said light-sharing energy system thus has potential applications for solar energy management, specifically for sectors like agrivoltaics, building integrated photovoltaics, etc.. |
