| Abstract: | A natural resin-based scavenging system for reduction of caffeine and bitterness from beverages A natural resin based scavenging system comprising plant or animal originated resin coated substrate, wherein the said coating comprises 1% to 7 % of the natural resin,comprising1-3 layers preferably 2 layers of coats,for reduction of caffeine and bitterness from beverages and the like. The said scavenging system is based on selectively grounded resin such as lac, in solvent selected from spirit, ethanol, methanol, acetone, petroleum ether, alone or their combination. This material can be applied in various ways, including coatings over substrates such as cups, stirring spoons, plates, tea bags, filter bags, powders, and additives in combination with other materials. This approach presents a low-cost, effective, and eco-friendly means to enhance the sensory experience of beverages. This invention promises a simplified debittering and decaffeination process for food, beverages, and other edible items, and its customizable applications at the consumer end. |
