Title:

A Novel Composition of Cationic Metal Nanoparticle Conjugated Nanoemulsion and a Process for the Preparation Thereof

Value Proposition:
  1. The metal nanoparticle conjugated nanoemulsion does not contain any corrosive oxidizing agent, alcohol, or any other organic solvent that is completely miscible in water as well as other polar solvents. The product exhibits broad-spectrum antimicrobial and antifouling properties against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, fungi, bacterial spores, fungal spores, and viruses and also prevents biofilm formation.
  2. The process for the preparation of the compound is a simple method and economically viable. Also does not require any toxic and highly flammable organic solvents, high temperature, pressure, expensive chemicals, and sophisticated equipment/instrument and therefore, satisfy the green chemistry principle.
  3. The product prevents aggregation of metal nanoparticles and leaching of metal ions.
  4. The product exhibits stability for at least 6 months at a pH in the range of 2.0 to 10.0 and can be stored at a temperature in the range of 4 to 45 °C.
  5. The product binds the microbial pathogens through electrostatic interaction and kills the pathogens through cell membrane disruption.
  6. The product persists on the surface for a long time, enabling long-lasting effectiveness.
  7. The product is non-irritating and hydrates the skin to avoid dryness and cracking.
  8. The product also displays aromatic fragrances and exotic colors.
Summary Application:

The invention relates to a formulation of antimicrobial disinfectant with the composition of cationic metal nanoparticles conjugated nanoemulsion for health hygiene applications. The invention further provides a process for the preparation of the said product, cationic metal nanoparticles conjugated nanoemulsion, using a multistep process. More particularly, the cationic metal nanoparticles conjugated nanoemulsion is formulated in different physical forms and applied as a liquid, spray, and self-supporting foam. The product has a combination of anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, sporicidal, and anti-biofouling properties. The conjugated system also prevents oxidation of metal nanoparticles, and increases the dispersibility, therefore enhancing the performance and stability of the product.
