| Abstract: | Disclosed herein is a one-pot facile process for the synthesis of silica functionalized Au nanoparticles and selective visual detection of As(III) in water therewith. Further provided is a process for colorimetric detection of Arsenic [As(III)] content in water bodies, in particular drinking water, using the synthesized surface modified Au nanoparticles. Trace amount of Arsenic [As(III)] content can be detected by visual naked eye. Agglomeration behavior of Au nanoparticle based on the changes of the color of the solutions finds essential in colorimetric detection very rapidly. Synthesized surface modified is highly selective and sensitive detection of As(III) upto 50 ppb, which is suitable for the environmental monitoring of the toxic element. The develop process is low cost, facile, rapid, and can be easily detected through naked eye. | ||
