Abstract:
A portable and multipurpose apparatus for cold plasma jet has been designed and developed having novel geometry and unique capabilities for the generation of stable,  fine and long cold plasma plume enriched with required reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) for its multi-purpose use in biomedical and surface treatment  applications. The cold plasma jet apparatus comprises selective components for the gas injection, electrode arrangements, plasma generation and plasma plume  formation. A unique hollow pipe arrangement has been used for linear gas inlet and radial outlet, and support for short pulsed HF voltage pin electrode connection  wherein the laminar gas flow is maintained in the customized discharge zone for efficient plasma generation. Special characteristic arrangement has been made for the  specific composition of the gaseous mixtures for the precise and efficient generation of the reactive species. The developed apparatus can easily be tuned and efficiently  generates the chemically reactive species, electrons, ions and UV radiations in controlled manner at atmospheric pressure. Fig:1
