| Abstract: | Disclosed herein is a chemico-thermo-biological process for degrading leather material, essentially involving a chemical and/or thermal pre-treatment followed by microbial treatment, whereby the leather is converted into a degraded biomass. This process finds vast application for the purpose of effective disposal of the leather wastes, generated by leather and leather product industry, which otherwise pose major environmental as well hazardous challenge. |
