| Abstract: | A process for preparation of Dot card for the sensitive detection of Organo Phosphate Pesticide Dot card for detection of organophosphate pesticides; A process to prepare thereof, is reported in this invention. The genesis of this invention is from the fact that pesticides have been used in agriculture to increase the yield, quality and extend the storage life of crops. But apart from the benefits, the continuous use of pesticides have resulted in contamination of the environment, crops and also caused potential risk to human health. Present methods for detection of pesticides include ELISA, high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and Mass spectroscopy (MS). These techniques demand sophisticated instruments, skilled labor and complex procedures which cannot be employed for onsite detection or screening of pesticides. Accordingly, the present invention provides a process for the development of a self-contained, disposable, and economical test kit in the form of dot card for the detection of pesticides like chlorpyrifos, in food commodities and drinking water. The test kit is an immuno-colorimetric strip based on competitive binding assay. | ||
