Abstract: The present invention relates to a process of bulk synthesis of porous crystalline covalent organic framework (COFs) from 1,3,5- triformyl phloroglucinol based, namely Tp-Azo and Tp-Azo-BD(Me)2 for CH4 storage. The porous, crystalline covalent organic  framework (COFs) for CH4 storage is characterized with better methane gas uptake, high crystallinity, high surface area and is  synthesized in bulk scale.
