| Abstract: | The present invention relates to the biotransformation of geraniol to geranic acid by the fungal mycelia of Mucor irregularis [MTCC 25582] with 97-100% conversion after 72 hours of incubation at 28oC. The reaction was scaled up in a 3 L bioreactor with a 1.5 L working volume and it showed about 98.89% conversion of geraniol to geranic acid. |
