| Abstract: | EIDD 1931 is a broad-spectrum antiviral showing promising activities against disease causing RNA viruses such as influenza, SARS, MERS and COVID-19. The present invention intends to disclose the development of a process towards this antiviral via a short synthetic route starting from D-ribofuranose 1,2,3,5-tetraacetate. The present invention also decreases the usage of purification processes such as column chromatography and makes the process a green alternative. The present invention provides a cost effective and industrially viable process for preparing EIDD-1931 which involves use of cheap raw materials. |
