Abstract: Present invention provides a system and the suitable catalyst that converts waste plastics into diesel by a continuous process involving  conveying of granulated or agglomerated waste plastic through a screw conveyor with simultaneous melting and maintaining a  pressure of 4-5 bar, decomposition in non-aerobic atmosphere into intermediate hydrocarbon vapours having an average carbon  number in the range of 14-16, secondary cracking and aromatization to reduce the average carbon number in the range of 10-12  followed by online fractionation in a column to collect diesel and circulate natural and liquefied petroleum range gases into a  combustor for generation of flue gases for heating of reactors with simultaneous online decoking of catalysts in parallel reactors.
