Title:

A Zero Liquid Discharge Process for the Production of Alginic Acid and its Derivatives from Alginophytes.
Value Proposition:

Aim was to develop a zero liquid discharge technology for the production of alginic acid and derivatives which ensure maximum utilization of the biomass and  product quality suitable for applications in Textile, Food, Pharmaceutical applications.

Food, textile, beverage and pharmaceutical industries
Advantages:
  1. The process developed is zero liquid discharge i.e., no production of any liquid effluents.
  2. All the solid residues are converted to value added materials i.e., 100% utilization of biomass.
  3. Lesser usage of water and other chemicals in comparison to the conventional processes.
