| Summary Application: | Lotus ‘Namoh-108’ is an elite variety developed by CSIR-NBRI, Lucknow. These flowers are light pink in colour and large in size reaching up to 10 inches in diameter. After intervention by CSIR-NBRI with changing physical parameters, it could flower almost throughout the year from March to December. The flowers stand 1.0-1.6 meters above the water surface by peduncles. This elite variety has the highest content of nutritional components, including essential amino acids, polyphenols, flavonoids, catechins, fatty acids and carbohydrates than other varieties. Moreover, it is also rich in nutritional minerals, namely potassium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium and calcium. The variety is generally propogated by rhizomes/stolon division and through seeds. |
