Abstract:
The present invention relates to an automated device for the water sample collection and plankton filtration and it substitutes the manually carried out  water sample collection. The present invention has an advantage of automatic collection from desired depths during sampling operations, it takes less time to collect  sample and at a time different types of plankton can be filtered. Target water is passed through the device having two separate chambers fitted with different mesh size  nets for filtration of phytoplankton and zooplankton separately. The filtrate can be used for the analysis of selected physicochemical parameters of water. The present  instrument is easy to use, clean, and rapid.
Startup Options: Advantages:
  • Minimizing the drawbacks and errors associated with the manually carried out plankton sampling method.
  • automated sampling device designed to carry out the filtration of zooplankton, phytoplankton, and chlorophyll as well as collection of filtrate water for further analysis of physicochemical parameters
  • The device can be at any desired sampling location, which can either be a boat or inland water.
