Abstract:
The present invention relates to an improved process for the recovery of valuables in the form of graphitic carbon fractions, cryolite, sodium fluoride, sodium carbonate/sulphate, and mixed hydroxides from spent anode dust and first-cut spent pot lining materials obtained from electrolytic reduction cells which are used to produce aluminium metal. The recovered graphite has various applications in electrostatic charge dissipative coating, Li-Battery and so on.
