Abstract:
The present invention relates to development of novel process for synthesis of insecticide Pymetrozine in only three steps in good overall yields. This invention  provides the lowest number of synthetic steps for the synthesis of Insecticide Pymetrozine till date. Thus, the present invention will be economically more viable than  any other reported routes. The present invention utilizes cheap and easily available starting materials maintaining the environmentally-benign aspects and has mostly  been carried out at room temperature, avoiding the use of any chlorinated solvent, cryogenic reaction conditions, refluxing over a long period of time, and catalyst.
