Abstract:
Liquid LPG can be extracted easily from the existing LPG cylinders fitted with self closing (SC) valve available in public distribution system. There is a need to develop a valve from which liquid LPG can't be extracted by any mechanical means. An anti-pilferage self-closing valve (APSCV) system is provided to stop the liquid LPG from the cylinder. The APSCV system includes three main components such as an actuation unit, a NRV housing, and a seat valve. APSCV is designed in such a way that it maintains the required LPG vapor outflow at the required rate but prevents the liquid LPG outflow. On the other hand, APSCV maintains the filling rate of liquid LPG same as the existing SC valve at the bottling plant. Proposed APSCV meets the other design requirements as per specifications. The APSCV system helps in preventing pilferage of liquid form of LPG from a cylinder. The APSCV system helps in intercepting economic loss due to pilferage of the LPG in supply chain. The APSCV system provided by the present invention is replacement of the existing self-closing valve.
