| Abstract: | The present invention relates to a novel apparatus for tractor operated Chilli harvesting in which the device comprises of a rigid frame providing support to all subsystems and physical connection with the tractor, four parallel linkages with two hydraulic cylinder are used to connect the Chilli harvesting device to the tractor, hydraulic cylinders are provided to adjust the height of picking head, two finger drums with outwardly extruded flexible fingers, rotating in opposite and toward the chilli crop between them, the force produced by the flexible fingers detach the ripened/ matured chilli fruits from the crop, drums are driven by hydraulic motor through gearboxes mounted on the main frame. Chilli fruits receiving plates are positioned at an angle to the crop so that Chilli fruits fall, slide and collect on the conveyor, Chilli receiving plates deflect parallel to the crop movement allow the plants to pass without damaging the plant trunk, plates come to original position under spring action once plant passes through, Chilli receiving system mounted both sides of the conveyor under finger drums, conveyor further extended rearward and upwards up to the storage tank. Figure: 1 Digitally Signed by Gaurav Krishnan Principal Scientist IPU, CSIR | ||
