Abstract:
The present invention relates to an efficient method for the construction of vinyl ß-amino alcohols via a highly regio- and enantioselective iridium-catalyzed ring- opening of racemic alkenyl aziridines with carboxylic acids has been developed. The asymmetric allylic substitution occurs under ambient conditions between an in situ  generated chiral iridium complex and readily abundant carboxylic acids to provide rapid access to valuable vinyl aminoalcohol derivatives in high yields, high  regioselectivity and excellent enantioselectivity using only ppm-level catalyst loading.
