Title:

AWOS (Automated Weather Observing System) – Airport Weather Monitoring System

Value Proposition:

AWOS is a fully indigenous, ICAO- and WMO-compliant airport weather observing system developed to measure and report critical meteorological parameters—Visibility, Temperature, Humidity, Wind Speed, Wind Direction, Pressure, and Dew Point—for safe landing and take-off operations. Sensors are mounted on state-of-the-art frangible masts at mandated runway locations to ensure precise aerodrome weather representation. The proprietary AWOS software automatically generates ICAO-standard reports (METAR, SPECI, SYNOP, METREPORT, TAF, Aerodrome Warning, Cloud data, Runway selection, etc.) to enable safe and efficient air operations

Summary Application:

Mandatory airport system for continuous monitoring and automated reporting of aerodrome weather conditions to support CAT I/II/III landing and take-off operations at civil and defense airports.

Advantages:

Indigenous technology; Robust & frangible mast design; Suitable for CAT I/II/III operations; Meets ICAO & WMO stipulations; Automated METAR/SPECI/TAF generation; Quick & all-terrain deployment; Least or near-zero maintenance; Highly economical compared to imported systems; Modular and scalable architecture.
