Abstract: The present invention provides biodegradable  products, prepared using underutilized fruit harvesting wastesuchasapple tree prune wastes as raw material, along with a natural binder namely, wheat bran. The  developedprocess uses extrusion roasting at optimum speed and temperature, thereby reducing the cost and power consumption. The process does not involve any pre- treatment steps and the use of plasticizers or synthetic binding agents like plant resin. This is the first technology of its kind across the globe to effectively use apple tree  prune wastes for large scale commercial manufacture of biodegradable products such as plates, spoons, forks, etc.
