Bio-methanation of low grade coal/coal washery effluent/biomass process in moveable bio-methane reactor by CSIR-CIMFR is an ecofriendly process and is relatively less expensive for meeting energy demand of rural population, which can lead to self-sufficiency in domestic fuel needs, and at the same time reduces environmental pollution by coal washery effluent.

Advantages:

Advantages of the process in moveable bio-methane reactor are: Smokeless and clean cooking fuel and enriched organic manure, skill development for women, reduce burden on women for fire wood collection, reduce the destruction of local forest area, participation of rural women in sustainable energy & climate change program.
