| Abstract: | The present invention relates sodium-ion battery containing biphasic multivalent layered oxide cathode material s possessing improved battery performance and structural stability. The biphasic multivalent layered oxide cathode active material having a general formula NaxAaNibMncTidSbeMfO2 where 0.7=x=1, 0=a=0.05, 0.3=b=0.5, 0.1=c=0.5, 0.05=d=0.4, 0.05=e=0.2, 0=f=0.2, where A is monovalent element selected from Li, Ni is divalent element, Mn, Ti is tetravalent element, Sb is pentavalent element and M is divalent or trivalent element selected from Mg, Zn, Cu, Al or combination thereof.
