Castor oil to Food-flavour Perspective (+)-g-Decalactone

Value Proposition:
  • The novel strain produced exclusively (+)-g-decalactone with a high yield (>70%) from ricinoleic acid
  • The novel composite (Ca-Mg-Al-Si) purified (+)-g-decalactone to5% purity
  • The safety evaluation study showed that the purified (+)-g-decalactone is safe for flavor application

The process is economical viable for commercial production

  • Pulse column partitioning method enriched the ricinoliec acid
  • The novel strain produced exclusively (+)-g-decalactone with a high yield (>70%) from ricinoleic acid
  • The biotransformed (+)-g-decalactone is 100% bio-based, whereas the synthetic (±)-g-decalactone is up to 65% bio-based
  • The novel composite (Ca-Mg-Al-Si) purified (+)-g-decalactone to5% purity
  • The safety evaluation study showed that the purified (+)-g-decalactone is safe for flavor application

The process is economical viable for commercial production
