Title:

Compact Electric tractor (CSIR PRIMA ET11)

Value Proposition:

The developed compact Electric Tractor is 100% Pure electric, mainly to cater to small and marginal farmers of India. This tractor has a base power of 11 HP, which falls in the category of N1 tractor. It has the following features:

1) The e-tractor has been designed and manufactured with indigenous components and technologies.

2) To cater to the demand of agriculture field applications, the electric tractor has been designed so that its dynamics, weight distribution, transmission engagements, and lever and pedal position have been well considered during development.

3) The developed technology is that it is Women-friendly. To achieve this, special attention in the ergonomics, replacement of mechanical levers with electronic switches, to name the few.

4) The farmers can charge the tractor using a conventional home charging socket in 7 to 8 hours and operate the tractor for more than 4 hours in the field. Otherwise, the tractor can run more than 6 hours in case of normal Haulage operation.

5) The tractor is designed with a robust and efficient transmission system to achieve the desired efficiency.

6) The tractor is equipped with best-in-class hydraulic with a lifting capacity of 500 kg. It implies that a tractor can lift implements required not only for field operation but also for hauling operations. The electric tractor can also tow a 1.8-ton capacity trolley with a max speed of 25 kmph.

7) The Electric traction is built with a Lithium-ion battery with a Prismatic cell configuration. It has a deep discharging capability suitable for farming applications and, simultaneously, has a life of more than 3000 cycles. Moreover, the controller and the instrument cluster have been modified to suit agricultural needs.

8) The electric tractor is equipped with the V2L port; when it is not in operation, its battery power can be utilized for other secondary applications like pumping, etc.

The proposed solution will contribute significantly to country’s economic growth by providing an alternative to conventional diesel engine operated systems. This Technology will help MSME to get venture in the e- tractor segment.

Summary Application:

As the working conditions in India are quite challenging compared to other developed countries, hence there is a need for development based on the Indian condition. CSIR CMERI has developed an Indegnous Compact Electric tractor (CSIR PRIMA ET11) for small marginal farmers.
