| Abstract: | Noise barriers reported formerly have been generally designed for the property of sound attenuation by utilizing a single material. Existing noise barriers have either relayed singularly on vegetation for sound attenuation or on a specific material individually. The present invention obliges the inclusion of multiple slots which provide the inclusion of panels made of different noise-absorbing materials within the frame. Different materials are used and placed in different slots or a single material placed in multiple slots. The compact movable green noise barrier is ready to be deployed along roadside pathways to mitigate traffic noise as well as stationary noise sources. Multiple slots for acoustic panels are also accompanied by varying thickness of the slots as the performance of acoustical panels are varies with respect to their thickness. A combination of absorptive and reflective acoustical panels is used as a composite mitigation strategy towards noise pollution. The positions of acoustic panels in the frame of multiple slots are designed in such a way that it minimizes the noise leakages from the joint of acoustic panels in multiple slots. The selection of acoustical panels is dependent on field conditions and the extent of noise mitigation required for the respective location. Due to vegetation cover on both faces of the movable green noise barrier, the parallel noise reflection phenomena are additionally minimized, in case the noise barriers are placed along both sides of the roads. By introducing mobility and green vegetation in the noise barrier, it is easily transported and installed at various locations around noise emitting sources or on the receiver's end. The developed device is compact, mobile, detachable and easy to install at the sites. | ||
