| Abstract: | The compound IIIM-152 and its derivatives have been reported as potent stem cell modulators by down-regulating beta-catenin signaling. TNBCs are highly aggressive cancers and chemotherapy like Paclitaxel remains one of the primary treatment options. However, CSCs remains non-responsive to the Paclitaxel treatment leads to disease recurrence and metastasis and is one of the major clinical challenges. The Combinatorial treatment of IIIM-in vitro eliminates the Paclitaxel Resistant Cancer Stem Cells, whereas Paclitaxel only treatment is unable to target CSCs subpopulation. Similarly, a combination of Paclitaxel (10mg/kg)+ IIIM152 (50mg/kg and 100mg/kg), in tumor bearing mice showed significant reduction in tumor burden and decrease in number of Cancer Stem Cells in excised tumors. The combination of IIIM-152 and Paclitaxel proves to be clinically efficacious in treating the Paclitaxel non-responsive highly aggressive residual cancer stem cells to achieve long lasting treatment and addresses huge unmet medical need. |
