| Abstract: | The compound IIIM-152 and its derivatives have been reported as potent stem cell modulators by down-regulating beta-catenin signalling. TNBCs are highly aggressive cancers and chemotherapy remains one of the primary treatment options. However, CSCs remains non-responsive to the Paclitaxel treatment leads to disease recurrence and metastasis and is one of the major clinical challenges. The Combinatorial treatment of IIIM eliminates the Paclitaxel Resistant Cancer Stem Cells, whereas Paclitaxel only treatment is unable to target CSCs subpopulation. Similarly, a combination of Paclitaxel-IIIM152, showed significant reduction in tumor burden and decrease in number of CSCs in excised tumours. The combination of IIIM-152 and Paclitaxel proves to be clinically efficacious in treating the Paclitaxel non-responsive highly aggressive residual cancer stem cells to achieve long lasting treatment. The invention also provides a method for preparing the composition comprising Paclitaxel and IIIM-152. |
