Title:

DRR DHAN 89 (IET 32064)

Value Proposition:

DRR Dhan 89, jointly developed by CSIR-CCMB and ICAR-IIRR, is a MAS-derived, climate-resilient (tolerant to bacterial blight disease, blast disease and lodging), high-yielding, medium slender-grain type rice variety having the major bacterial blight resistance gene, Xa21 and the genes associated with blast and yield are Pi54 and SCM2, OsSPL14 with seed-to-seed maturity of 135-140 days. It is semi-dwarf in stature and non-lodging with long deflexed panicles, which are mostly exserted grains without awns. It has a brown hull color like Swarna.

Summary Application:

High-yielding, bacterial blight and blast disease resistant, lodging tolerant Rice variety with medium slender grain type with very good Head Rice Recovery (60.3 %), desirable Amylose Content (24.58), optimum Gel Consistency (22)  and Alkali Spreading Value (7.0).

Advantages:
  • High-yielding
  • Bacterial blight resistant
  • Blast disease resistant
  • Lodging tolerant
  • Medium slender grain type
  • Very good Head Rice Recovery
  • Yield: 8 Tons/Hectare
  • Duration: 135-140 Days
