DRR DHAN 91 (IET 32061)

Value Proposition:

DRR Dhan 91, jointly developed by CSIR-CCMB and ICAR-IIRR, is a MAS-derived, bacterial blight (BB), blast disease-resistant, and submergence-tolerant high-yielding, medium slender-grain type rice variety having the major BB resistance genes (Xa21+xa13+xa5) along with genes for blast (Pi54) and submergence (sub1). It recorded an overall yield of +1.1% at par over its recurrent parent across 27 locations in zones III, V, and VII in normal conditions. Under submergence (flooded) stress conditions, this entry recorded a superior yield of +68.4 % at two locations (Bikramganj and Karaikal) in 2023 over the recurrent parent, Improved Samba Mahsuri.

Summary Application:

High-yielding, bacterial blight, blast resistant  & submergence tolerant medium slender grain with medium-slender grain type with very good Head Rice Recovery (54.5 %), desirable Amylose Content (23.81), optimum Gel Consistency (57) and Alkali Spreading Value (5.0).
