Title:

Dry Maize Milling Plant

Value Proposition:

A dry milling system is of one tonne per hour capacity This consists of cleaning, destoning, conditioning, debranning, degerming, germ separation, and drying units. The mill can yield about 6% oil and 60% grits (low in oil and fibre content). It is hoped to boost use of maize grits in addition to the production of maize germ oil.

Summary Application:

Since the machinery are available indigenously, all rice mill machinery manufacturers can be licensees. The market for such mills is pan India and in other developing countries, where maize is grown and consumed predominantly

Advantages:

The system employs indigenous machinery. Modifications have been made to the rice polisher to make it suitable for maize milling and the said modifications are covered by a patent.  The ToT involves giving the details of the patent on payment of license fees.  The yield of products and co – products are comparable to that obtained in large capacity imported machinery.  The minimum economic capacity of the plant is 1TPH based on maize input.
