| Abstract: | The present invention relates to a glycation resistant insulin polypeptide displaying equivalent or better efficacy of insulin in terms of glucose control, wherein the mutations are generated by site directed mutagenesis. The lysine or arginine or both amino acids of insulin chain B peptide are replaced by suitable other amino acids. The present invention further relates to nucleic acids encoding mutated glycation-resistant insulin thereof; method of expressing and producing mutated glycation- resistant insulin thereof; and methods of their use, for example to reduce blood glucose and/or to treat a metabolic disease such as diabetes. |
