| Title: | High-Performance Advanced Oxidation Process for STPs, Greywater and Industrial Wastewaters (Food and Non-Food)
|
| Value Proposition: | Effluent treatment plants (ETPs) and Sewage treatment plants (STPs) are facing increasing problems due to current and emerging stringent regulatory norms by the pollution control board. The increasing presence of recalcitrant compounds in wastewaters results in poor functioning of bio-based STPs and ETPs, thereby posing great risks regarding the contamination of food sources and their potential impact on human health. A high-performance advanced oxidation process was developed for the treatment of such STP and ETP wastewaters through sound-scientific basis of innovation using experimental, analytical and modeling tools. The process can be used for removal of organics from wastewaters in STPs, ETPs and industries. The process also enables extended membrane life by facilitating robust ZLD operation |
| Summary Application: | The process is suitable for an existing plant (for pre- and post-treatment) by retrofitting and also for new plants as a standalone plug-and-play option. The existing plants may also use the standalone plug-and-play model for organic-lean wastewaters. |
| Advantages: | The technology can be used for the treatment of domestic wastewaters in STPs, ETPs and also for industrial wastewaters such as food industry wastewaters like sugar, dairy, distilleries and non-food industry wastewaters like pharmaceutical. The process know-how can be used as pre-treatment/ post-treatment/ standalone option to enhance biodegradability, remove colour and reduce chemical oxygen demand (COD) to < 50 mg/L and total microbial load (TML) < 100 CFU/ml. The costing can be customized as per requirement for pre- and post-treatment also, with bench-scale treatability studies |
