Title:

High Strength Valorized Paver Blocks using Granite Waste

Value Proposition:

High Strength Valorized Paver Blocks Using Granite Waste deliver M25–M50 grade performance with low water absorption and superior abrasion resistance for pedestrian to very heavy‑traffic pavements, while cutting material costs and diverting granite cutting waste from landfills for more sustainable and profitable paving projects.

Key benefits:

  • Structural and durability performance comparable to or better than conventional M25–M50 paver blocks for walkways, parking areas, and industrial pavements.
  • Reduced material and lifecycle costs through partial cement replacement, improved wear resistance, and extended service life, leading to 35–40% higher profitability compared to typical market products.
  • Environmental gains by valorizing granite waste, lowering embodied CO₂, and minimizing disposal issues, with technology already demonstrated at TRL 7 and ready for commercialization
Summary Application:
  • Pedestrian walkways, plazas, and cycle tracks using 50-60 mm pavers where M25-M35 equivalent strength and low water absorption are specified; granite waste induced paver block mixes meet these when optimized at 100% replacement.
  • Driveways and commercial parking areas with 80–100 mm pavers targeting M40–M50; granite waste blends around 100% can maintain high compressive and flexural strengths while improving wear resistance for medium traffic.
Advantages:
  • Higher compressive and flexural strength with better abrasion resistance, suitable for M25–M50 grade pavements from pedestrian zones to very heavy‑traffic areas.
  • Lower water absorption and improved durability, extending service life and reducing maintenance frequency and lifecycle costs.
  • Partial replacement of natural aggregates with granite waste lowers embodied CO₂, diverts stone‑cutting waste from landfills, and reduces production cost.
  • Higher profitability, estimated at about 35–40% more than typical market products on annual turnover, with TRL 7 pilot‑scale know‑how ready for commercialization.
