| Abstract: | The present invention relates to a process for the production of levan essentially free of contaminating polysaccharides using a bioreactor. More particularly, the present invention relates to a process for the increased production of levan using a strain of marine Bacillus sp. SGD-03. The present invention further relates to the process for efficient production of levan by optimizing media parameters at a microlitre level. |
