| Title: | High Volume Fly Ash Gypsum Composite Plaster |
| Value Proposition: | With the increase in population and urbanization, the demand for raw materials such as cement and aggregates has increased in the construction industry worldwide. The mission of sustainable development has led to a pressure-demand for improving environmental performance in the construction process by reducing the consumption of natural resources extracted. The utilization of fly ash – a byproduct of coal-based thermal power plants offers not only the solution to disposal problems but also helps to save cement, reduce carbon footprints by reducing greenhouse gases emission, conserve natural resources for meeting the increased demand for aggregates, and save energy and environment. The major objective of the work was the development of high-volume fly ash-gypsum composite plaster using 50-70% of fly ash and 30-40% hemihydrate plaster (POP). OPC cement (43 G) was used as cementitious plaster for pozzolanic reactivity along with chemical additives. |
