| Abstract: | The present invention discloses the production of Titanium-based highly pure MAX phase . and a process for preparation thereof. To develop the Ti containing MAX, Ti source includes one or a mixture of different Ti containing chemicals like Ti metallic powder, titanium carbide (TiC), titanium hydride (TiH), Ti-Al binary system; Al source includes Al metallic powder, Al carbide, and Al2O3; C source includes graphitic powder, activated porous carbon and conducting carbon black used. The present invention does not involve any additional washing steps hence the whole process is scalable, consumes low energy, and simpler. |
