Development of a high-purity Ti3AlC2 MAX phase and its corresponding Ti3C2 MXene for promising uses as a specialty chemical in various sectors, including energy generation and storage. 

Salient Technical Features:

  • An indigenous process has been developed for producing high-quality Ti-based Ti3AlC2 MAX powder via the pressureless sintering method.
  • Produces high purity of 98-99%.
  • Processing conditions have been optimized thoroughly to make the process simple.
  • Different Ti, Al, and C raw material sources have been investigated to make the process affordable and control the purity.
  • The process majorly involves milling and sintering under an inert atmosphere.
