| Title: | Immobilized Oxidation Reactors (IOR) for Wastewater Treatment
|
| Value Proposition: | The technology comprises four components, each comprised of immobilized bacteria in nano-porous carbon/ iron doped nanoporous carbon/ enzyme immobilized nano-porous carbon. |
| Summary Application: | The technology comprises four components, each comprised of immobilized bacteria in nano-porous carbon/ iron doped nanoporous carbon/ enzyme immobilized nanoporous carbon. The components also generate hydroxyl radicals for the oxidation of organics in wastewater. The nano-porous activated carbon generates hydroxyl radicals from molecular oxygen by the carbon matrix at the outer pore surface area. Immobilized matrices fragment the organics in wastewater. The fragmented organics are oxidized by the hydroxyl radicals generated at the outer pore surface area of the nano-porous activated carbon matrix. |
| Advantages: | Low Footprint requirement; No odour emission; Minimum sludge production compared to conventional technology; The technology can be integrated with membrane separation |
